Annual Conference

The San Diego Prevention Research Center's annual conference illustrates our commitment to conducting research and education to promote physical activity and improve the health of Latino populations through community partnerships and collaboration. The conference is designed to increase understanding of physical activity and its relationship to the obesity epidemic through current trends data, obesity behavioral risk factors, and economic, social, and cultural implications.

The conference also aims to increase understanding of how to promote physical activity in the Latino community by developing a cross-discipline approach to innovative programming, developing collaborative relationships, identifying resources, prevention strategies, and model programs, and identifying approaches to program planning and evaluation. The program agenda includes informational and skill building sessions as well as interactive workshops that focus on developing action plans and resource sharing for participants.
