In March of 2008, our Research Assistants Alicia Gonzalez and Xinia Sanchez and SDPRC staff recruited Familias Sanas y Activas study participants at the 2008 San Ysidro Day, coordinated annually by one of the SDPRC's main community partners, Casa Familiar. Promotora Elsa Escalante also attended, and did some recruitment of her own at the event.
